Summary: Dr. Bilal gave an introductory session showing that online teaching (Distance Education) affords new opportunities to teach for the masses beyond borders. Unlike face-to-face, online teaching and learning have multiple modalities (synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid or blended), presenting unique requirements, expectations, and challenges. Dr. Dania Bilal drew upon years of experience in online teaching and learning using various modalities and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) both from her own and student perspectives.
